The Guidance and Counseling Office is located in the Life and Career Center. The office's efforts are aimed towards the effective implementation of the following objectives: facilitate student's self-knowledge, attitudes, interests, different social roles, skills and abilities. It is important to understand what their academic responsibilities are and their impact on the society they live. Through this process the student is expected to achieve significant changes in their lifestyle and quality of life.
The mission of the Guidance and Counseling Office is to offer quality advice and guidance at an individual and group level in an ethical and confidential manner for students to acquire the human skills necessary to be part of the workforce in this ever changing society. The Guidance and Counseling Program at Huertas Junior College is based on a holistic view of the human being with the purpose of promoting their integral development and help them achieve their educational goals to face effectively the socio-economic demands of society in which they live.
Provide individuals from diverse segments of the population the acquisition and development of intellectual, technical and human skills and capacities to become a holistic and productive human being ready to face the demands of the labor world in a changing society.
Service hours: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
