ASSOCIATE DEGREE - PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

This program enables students to assist the pharmacist at a community pharmacy, hospital or pharmaceutical industry under the provisions of Puerto Rico's Pharmacy Act. The student will demonstrate mastery over the operation of the pharmacies in Puerto Rico, its regulations, and procedures to buy and check merchandise. He will also know the rules and usage of OTC products and its legends. The student will learn the profession's technical vocabulary, forms of pharmaceutical preparations, prescription interpretation, generic names of medicines and their manufacturers. 

A proper use of the equipment regularly used in a pharmacy will also be taught. Upon completing the 1,000 hours of practice and the requirements of the program, the student will be able to take the bar examination for Pharmacy Technician in Puerto Rico and be licensed in accordance with established laws. The student is responsible for complying with all requirements established by the Board of Examiners concerned. For this test, you must submit a Negative Criminal Record Certificate, among others requirements.
